What banks do you support?

We support any US bank that lets you download or export statements as PDF, CSV, or text files. That includes Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Capital One, and thousands more.

How accurate is the AI categorization?

Our AI achieves 85–95% accuracy depending on the complexity of your transactions and industry. You always have full control to review and change any category before generating your P&L.

Can I upload consolidated statements?

Yes, but for the most accurate results we recommend uploading individual monthly statements — one account per file. Consolidated statements are accepted but may require additional review.

Is this Cash Basis or Accrual Basis?

All P&L statements are generated on a Cash Basis, which records income when received and expenses when paid. This is the most common method for small businesses and is what most CPAs expect for tax preparation.

Can my accountant use these reports?

Absolutely. You get professional reports including a P&L Summary with category totals and a P&L Detail Sheet showing every transaction itemized under its category (with clean descriptions — no banking jargon). Business plans and above also get quarterly and annual reports, expense trends, and comparison tools. Download as PDF or CSV.

What about personal transactions mixed in?

If you indicate that personal and business funds are mingled, our AI will flag likely personal transactions (groceries, streaming services, etc.) and exclude them from your P&L automatically. You can always adjust.

How do you handle check payments?

Accepted Answer

Checks with unclear payees (e.g., CHECK #1042) are categorized as “Subcontractor” by default since that’s the most common use case. You can easily change the category during review.

Is my financial data secure?

Your security is our top priority. Bank statements are processed using encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) and stored in an encrypted database. Payments are handled by a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant processor — we never see or store your card numbers. Authentication uses SOC 2 compliant identity management with email verification. Your session automatically times out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Free trial data is not stored permanently. Paid user data is secured with Row Level Security and accessible only to you.

What formats can I download my P&L in?

You can download your P&L as a PDF (print-ready), CSV (for spreadsheets), or a detailed transaction CSV with every categorized transaction. You can also print directly from your browser.

Can I edit or change a category?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You have full control. Click any category to change it, and the system will offer to apply the same change to similar transactions automatically. You can also add custom categories.

How long does processing take?

Most statements are processed in under 5 minutes. Complex statements with hundreds of transactions may take slightly longer. You’ll see results as soon as processing completes.

How does pricing work?

Try it free with 1 statement — no account needed. Paid plans are simple monthly subscriptions: Starter ($29/mo), Business ($49/mo), and Bookkeeper Pro ($149/mo). Each tier includes unlimited uploads within your account limits. No per-statement charges.

Who can see my financial data?

Accepted Answer

Only you can access your financial data. Our database enforces Row Level Security, meaning each user can only query their own data. Our admin team can access data only for support purposes (such as Expert Reviews you request). We never sell, share, or use your financial data for advertising. AI-powered categorization is processed in real-time only — your data is not stored by the AI service.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your Profile page in the dashboard. Click ‘Cancel Subscription’ and confirm. You’ll keep full access until the end of your billing period — we don’t cut you off early. After that, your account downgrades to Free but your data is saved for 30 days in case you want to come back.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If For Profit isn’t right for you within the first 14 days, request a full refund from your Profile page and we’ll process it within 5–7 business days. No questions asked.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Your data stays safe for 30 days after your billing period ends. During that time, you can resubscribe and everything is restored. We recommend downloading your reports and transactions as CSV before cancelling, just in case. After 30 days, data may be permanently deleted.

Can I switch plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime from your Profile page. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Do you sell my data?

Accepted Answer

No. We will never sell, trade, or share your financial data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is used solely to provide the For Profit service. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
